Membership Terms

1. Acceptance of these terms

By applying to Startup Kin, or by using this website, you agree to these Membership Terms. If you do not agree, do not apply to or participate in the club. These terms apply alongside our Privacy Policy.

2. No guaranteed outcomes

Startup Kin facilitates connections between founders. We do not guarantee sales, customers, investment, introductions, or any other business outcome. The value of membership depends on what you and other members put into it.

3. Independent founders

Members participate as independent founders and companies. No member is an agent, employee, partner, representative, or joint venturer of BORCROC EOOD or of any other member. Nothing in these terms creates an employment, agency, or partnership relationship between members, or between a member and Startup Kin.

BORCROC EOOD also owns and operates other companies which participate as Startup Kin members. Their membership is subject to these same terms - it does not grant them priority access, special matching treatment, or additional obligations from other members.

4. Voluntary participation

No member is required to accept a proposed cooperation exchange, and declining one carries no penalty. Startup Kin does not compel any member to give help, accept help, or continue an exchange once it has started.

5. Member responsibilities

As a member, you agree to:

• Represent your startup honestly - do not misrepresent your product, traction, or stage.
• Not spam other members or use the network for unsolicited marketing.
• Not use member contact data for any purpose beyond the cooperation exchange it was shared for.
• Not make deceptive, misleading, or fraudulent claims to other members or in your application.
• Treat other members with professionalism and respect.

We review reported violations and may take action, including removal - see section 8 below.

6. Commercial arrangements between members

Any contract, payment, investment, or other commercial arrangement that members choose to enter into with each other is between those members alone. BORCROC EOOD is not a party to, and is not responsible for, the performance, terms, or outcome of any such arrangement.

7. Confidentiality and intellectual property

Do not assume that anything shared through the network - product plans, metrics, pitches, or other materials - is confidential. Confidentiality applies only where the founders involved separately agree to it, for example through their own non-disclosure agreement. Each founder retains ownership of their own intellectual property; participating in Startup Kin does not transfer or license any IP to another member or to BORCROC EOOD.

8. Removal and suspension

We reserve the right to suspend or remove any member who abuses the community, misrepresents their startup, misuses member data, or repeatedly fails to honor agreed exchanges.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, BORCROC EOOD is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your participation in Startup Kin, including damages arising from another member's conduct, a failed cooperation exchange, or a commercial arrangement between members. Startup Kin is provided on an as-is basis, without warranties of any kind.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Bulgaria. Any dispute arising from these terms or your membership is subject to the jurisdiction of the Bulgarian courts, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have under EU law.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these Membership Terms as the club evolves. If we make a material change, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued participation after a change means you accept the updated terms.
